Never seen one in real life before, that back hatch is pretty stunning when you see it unexpectedly. Its just too nice to be cruising around in a foot of fresh, drifting snow.

That kind of makes me want to buy a Volvo.

We have a C30 R Design at our dealership, it's really not as fast as I'd hoped, but it looks cool.

You should.
Also because safety.

YESYESYESyesyesyesyes. Very win. Such nice.
I like that paint job and those wheels, too.
'Tis my favorite car. I want to get one when I am of driving age, but seeing as how they are very rare now, that is highly unlikely 6 years later.
I've seen three total in my area (Southeast Houston).

Same paint as this but the rims were dark grey, still a nice car covered in road salt and muck. Yes I live in Canada.

Definitely something different in the hatch market. I really like it.

Safety is good, but safety around here is Silverado/Ram/F150.

The C30 was one of the first regular cars (non-super/hypercars) I swooned over and got me more into cars.

Hmmmm...

It was definitely one of the cars I wanted to see a specs list on and from that I wanted to compare it to GTis, Mazdas and so on. I feel the same way. Much want.

Yes. Quite Hmmmm... indeed.

I also have a Matchbox Volvo 480 as a hand-me-down from my uncle. It helped me appreciate the beauty of glass hatches.
(not my Volvo 480 pictured)

Nope.
Tundra is the first truck to get IIHS Top Safety Pick.

I went to a Volvo dealership when they first came out and even then I thought it looked great. I haven't seen one on the road in years. Glad to see it still holds up.

No one drives those around here though haha.

Was looking into one of these as a first car, but ultimately the major advantage the Fiesta had was insurance was insanely cheaper, because being a 2 door its classified as a sports car.

I can't imagine the parts for a c30 being cheap to find. I bet that helped too.

I love mine. I made the mistake of letting my mom drive it once. She loved it so much, she bought a Polestar a couple months later. My car's steering provides much more feedback than the newer cars, surprisingly. There is barely any feedback in the Polestar... Driving at 7/10ths is fun, but not so much at 10/10ths, so I would not recommend it for driving on tracks. As a DD, it is excellent. Hooked on Volvo for life.

Having driven a C30, there aren't too many things I don't like about it. BUT the thing I really don't like about is the interior. I find it to be absolutely horrible.
I love the outside looks and the it didn't drive too bad either.
Not sure if Volvo has done anything about the interior since the model year of the one I drove.

Interior is the same now. I really wish Volvo would bring the C30 back, but the XC90 and XC60 sell much better and won't consider selling the V40 here until all of the current models are redesigned.

The C30 is discontinued?

I really wanna drive a Volvo, never have, pretty much unicorns around here.

Unfortunately. They only sold about 2000 here last year or this year? It wasn't selling enough to be a significant contribution to Geely's goal of 500,000 cars a year globally by 2020, so they cut it.

I didn't know that. Interesting.

It's been on the market for seven years, it's not that strange it was discontinued. It was based on the (Euro) mk2 Focus, which has been discontinued ages ago as well. As were the S40/V50. There's the new V40 now, not the same thing but it's sort of its replacement.
